As its name suggests, the braided bun requires making one or several braids that are then incorporated into the bun. Variations are endless; let your imagination and creativity run wild 💁‍♀️.

Low braided bun tutorial

This elegant hairstyle is perfect for a bohemian wedding or a boho-chic event.

  1. After detangling your hair, make two French braids on top of your head and a low ponytail. For this type of braid, simply add a small strand of hair each time you place one strand of your braid over the others.
  2. Wrap both braids around your hair elastic.
  3. Loosely braid your spiral ponytail and secure with an elastic.
  4. Wrap your spiral ponytail into a low bun and then tuck the tip of the braid inside the bun by pulling it out in the middle. Secure your bun all around with hairpins*.
  5. Pull back a few strands for a voluminous effect and add some more hairpins to secure your hairstyle.
  6. Tie a small ribbon around your bun and make a pretty bow.

High braided bun tutorial

Beautiful and natural, this bun will perfectly accompany you in your everyday life.

  1. For this hairstyle, start by making two ponytails. The first one is a ponytail at the top of the head with ¾ of the hair in it and the second one is a low, thin ponytail at the side.
  2. Split your ponytail in half and cross the two strands as if making a two-piece rope braid. Then braid the second, thinner ponytail into a classic braid.
  3. Wrap your ponytail around itself to make a bun and hold it in place with bobby pins.
  4. Pull on the strands of the braid to add a bit of volume.
  5. Bring your braid up around your bun and secure it once again with bobby pins.
  6. Pull out a few strands for a messy bun.

How to do a boho low bun?

From a simple ponytail or braid, a low bun can easily be achieved. For a more casual look, consider a slightly messy hairstyle.

Wrapped bun with a half-tail tutorial

This hairstyle offers a natural yet elaborate effect, ideal for a hippie chic style.

  1. Put your hair in a half-tail, tied relatively low.
  2. Wrap the remaining hair in sections, one by one, twisting them and then tucking the tips inside as if you were making a wrapped bun.
  3. This will create a ponytail with strands nicely rolled to the side.
  4. With your remaining hair, pull the tip inside the ponytail a few times until it forms a bun.
  5. Hold it in place with bobby pins and then rework it with your fingers by pulling out some of the strands.
